Maths

At our school, we deliver a high-quality, mastery-based Mathematics curriculum. This approach supports children in developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through small, carefully sequenced steps. Lessons are designed to build fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, ensuring that all pupils are confident and capable mathematicians. Using a blend of visual representations, practical resources, and structured practice, our Maths curriculum helps our children to make connections across topics and apply their learning in real-life contexts. Our aim is to foster a love of Maths and equip every child with the skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.

All year groups follow a 'mastery approach', using White Rose Maths, in line with their year group expectations. The White Rose schemes of learning take the main learning objectives from the National Curriculum and break them down into teaching blocks across each term. Time is built in for Maths assessments and for recapping at the end of the term.
