'Children are magic because they look for it…’

We understand how important choosing a school is and with our Early years provision we endeavour to make every day your child has in school special.

 

Our Early Years Foundation Stage consists of our Rainbow Room  (from child's 2nd birthday up to Nursery age), our Nursery (from the September after child's 3rd birthday up to Reception age) and our Reception class (from the September after child's 4th birthday).

Each group has their own room which has been modelled and developed to meet the needs of the children of that age. We also have access to a communal outside garden used solely by our EYFS children. Our qualified and experienced 'early years' staff support the children in each area to work, play and learn together. Friendships are created and blossom from an early age.

For our Rainbow and Nursery children attending funded 15 hour provision, we recommend them attending 5 x 3 hour sessions each week: mornings 8.45am-11.45am or afternoons 12.15pm-3.15pm. Parents can pay for additional sessions if required. Please enquire at the school office about costs. Lunch is required on full days either a paid meal or a packed lunch will be needed.

The term after they have turned three, children are eligible for the 30 hour government funded childcare provision. Sessions are Monday - Friday 8:45am-3:15pm. Lunch is required on full days, either a paid school meal or packed lunch. Please contact the school office and discuss your requirements.

 

Across all groups children interact with an adult carrying out short focused activities pertinent to their stage of development, as well as access to self-initiated chosen activities taking place in both the inside and outside learning environments to encourage resilience, independence and interaction with their peers.

The geography of our Early Years Foundation Stage within Langley Park Primary school allows the children to remain in the same surroundings, with familiar adults and routines until they transfer to Year 1. We believe this helps form self-confident, resilient and emotionally secure young learners.
