How do we support children with pastoral, social, emotional or medical needs?

Pastoral, Social and Emotional Support

At Langley Park Primary School we take great care to ensure that the pastoral, social and emotional needs of all children are fully met. All of our staff have received training from the Local Authority and we have a number of systems in place to ensure that we are able to support children who may experience difficulties in these areas.

Medical Support

Many of our staff hold current first aid certificates

In addition, we have designated first aiders with additional qualifications across the school: Mrs Atkinson and Miss Johnston

Paediatric First Aid: Mrs Mavin, Mrs Mawson, Miss Crowe, Miss Bianchi, Mr Walton, Mrs Ross, Mrs Owens and Mrs Dillon.

Emergency First Aid At Work training has also been completed by: Miss McKee, Mrs Alderson, Miss Barton, Miss Noble, Mrs Sterling, Mr Hall, Mrs Walker and Mrs Kennedy.

Children with additional medical needs are well supported in school. Mrs Atkinson and Miss Johnston  are trained in administering medication and as a school, we work closely with the School Nurse and other medical professionals to ensure that we can support your child's medical needs fully, for example administering asthma medication, insulin, epi-pens and being aware of the symptoms of other medical conditions.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss your child's needs further.
